Agave Syrup
Mild, pourable sweetener that dissolves easily into drinks
Light and neutral with a clean sweetness, agave syrup dissolves easily into cold drinks and cocktails and sweetens without overpowering. Keep it at room temperature.
Agave syrup (agave nectar) is a thin, neutral liquid sweetener extracted from the agave plant — the same plant behind tequila. It pours and dissolves easily, tastes cleanly sweet with little flavor of its own, and is sweeter than sugar, so a little goes far. Popular as a vegan honey substitute and in cold drinks because it mixes without graininess, though it's very high in fructose, so despite often being marketed as a more natural sweetener it is nutritionally similar to other added sugars.

Types & varieties
Mild and neutral; for drinks and delicate uses.
Medium flavor, faintly caramel.
Stronger, almost maple-like, for bold recipes.
How to use
Its neutral taste and easy dissolving make it ideal for sweetening cold drinks, cocktails (margaritas especially), and dressings. As a vegan honey swap it works 1:1 by volume; in baking, reduce other liquids since it's a syrup and use less than sugar.
- Sweetening iced tea, lemonade, and cocktails
- Vegan honey substitute
- Salad dressings and marinades
- Drizzling over yogurt and fruit
How to store
Keep it sealed at room temperature; unlike honey it won't crystallize, so it stays pourable indefinitely.
